lauren's piano studio

With the vision of empowering others through music,
Lauren has been teaching a wide range of students, both in individual and group settings, from 5 to 60 years old since 2018. A passionate and creative educator, she constantly seeks to impart knowledge and skills through singing, movement, story-telling and interactive games, inspired by Dalcroze and Kodaly methods.

Every student is unique, and Lauren seeks to match each individual's personality and learning style, through the VAK learning model. She believes in a holistic learning approach, integrating various aspects of music-making (practical, theory, aural, history, musicianship) into piano lessons.

Nevertheless, markers are important parts of one's learning journey, and Lauren has been glad to be able to guide and support her students in their ABRSM/Trinity examinations and performances, with majority achieving merit or distinctions. During her time at The Music Circle, she has had experience planning and organising holiday camps, concerts and internal assessments for students, and continues to organize recitals for her current studio. As a teacher at the NAFA School of Young Talents, and part of the collective The Music Studios, she continues to hone her craft as a pedagogue.

The values and soft skills that Lauren have gained throughout her musical journey have shaped her character, and she aims to instill these in her students concurrently. Ultimately, Lauren strives to develop a strong musical foundation, and nurture a life-long love and appreciation for music in all the budding musicians she meets.
